FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about CarbClue and getting started with keto.
What is CarbClue?
CarbClue is a keto health-management app that helps you detect, record, and follow a ketogenic diet. It tracks ketones and net carbs, logs your meals and macros, and gives personalized guidance to help you reach and stay in ketosis.
How does CarbClue detect ketosis?
You log ketone readings from blood (BHB), breath (acetone), or urine test strips, and CarbClue interprets them into a clear ketosis level — light, optimal, or deep nutritional ketosis. It also charts how your carb intake relates to your ketone response over time.
Do I need a ketone meter to use CarbClue?
No. You can track your ketogenic diet using only net-carb and macro logging. A blood, breath, or urine ketone meter is optional but gives you more precise ketosis detection and faster feedback.
What is a ketogenic (keto) diet?
A ketogenic diet is a very-low-carbohydrate, high-fat way of eating that shifts your body to burn fat for fuel, producing ketones. Most people limit net carbs to roughly 20–50 grams per day to reach ketosis.
Is CarbClue free?
CarbClue's core tracking — meal logging, net-carb counting, and ketone recording — is free. Advanced personalized guidance may be offered as an optional subscription.
Which platforms does CarbClue support?
CarbClue is being built for iOS and Android. Join the waitlist on this site to be notified the moment the app is available in your region.
Is CarbClue medical advice?
No. CarbClue provides general wellness and nutrition information to support a ketogenic lifestyle. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider before starting any diet, especially if you have a medical condition.
